The Lab Koat IPA is designed to accommodate PTFE coatings that are formulated with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) carrier fluid. This was the product from MicroCare Medical that pre-dated the modern day Duraglide formulations. An example would be the DuPont RA/IPA material from the RA Dry Film Dispersions family.

The Lab Koat IPA is explosion proof, and intrinsically safe, suitable for use in Class 1, Division 1 environments, and can accommodate any coating formulated with a flammable carrier fluid. The Lab Koat IPA uses an air operated diaphragm pump to circulate & mix the coating fluid, the and has no direct sources of ignition in proximity to the carrier fluid by design. Otherwise, the Lab Koat IPA incorporates the same features & benefits of the standard Lab Koat.

    What is the Baron Blakeslee LabKoat system?
    The Lab Koat is a tabletop precision coating deposition system. It boils, circulates and has cooling coils to create a consistent and efficient application of PTFE dispersion and silicone coatings. The Lab Koat is designed to apply lubricant coatings such as MicroCare® Medical's Duraglide®. Duraglide® lubricant's uses micro dispersion polytetrefluoroethylene coating technology to deliver a smooth, thin lubricant coating over the surface of the medical device. The application of the Lab-Koat Series Coater in addition to the Duraglide® lubricant ensures the medical device is left able to actuate more easily, as a result of the even consistency and effectiveness of the medical coating.
