Typically there are more variables in an aqueous process compared to vapor degreasing.
Trapped moisture can become a serious problem in complex part geometries with blind holes or tight recesses, leading to corrosion if not carefully managed.
Vapor Degreasing: Precision Cleaning for Complex Parts
Vapor degreasing uses solvent vapors to dissolve contaminants directly off a part's surface. Parts are suspended in the vapor zone, where the solvent condenses, lifts the contamination, and drips away. Cleaning, rinsing, and drying all occur in a single enclosed machine, with cycle times typically ranging from 5 to 10 minutes.
The process excels where aqueous cleaning struggles. Low surface tension allows the solvent to reach deep into complex geometries, and rapid evaporation means parts exit the machine dry, residue-free, and ready for the next production stage. Solvent is continuously filtered and recycled via distillation, reducing long-term waste and operating costs.
